TRIP summary

Join us for an incredible journey through the backroads of the Southern Oregon Coast and Mountains. We will meet at a historic lodge at the confluence of the Illinois and Rogue rivers about 30 miles from Gold Beach. The lodge on a 150 acre property was completed in 1912 and is still operated by the same family seven generations later. The cabins and lodge have a rustic charm while surrounding you in Oregon history.

The lodge will be our basecamp for the weekend. You can join us for a ride into the lodge or just meet us there Thursday afternoon. We’ll get situated, enjoy a beverage and meet for a family-style dinner at the main lodge. Again, both Friday and Saturday nights we will enjoy family-style dinner together at the lodge. There is nothing better than discussing the day with your fellow riders over dinner and drinks. Each morning Friday, Saturday and Sunday we will start the day with a family-style breakfast together at the lodge.

Friday and Saturday we will explore the area on a a combination of paved and graded gravel roads. The smell of the forest or the ocean breeze will bring a lasting smile to your face. One of my favorite roads in the area is the Old Coos Bay Wagon Road. The road is mostly paved and follows the path of the original 150 year old wagon road. Another favorite is the Bear Camp Coastal Route. This mostly one-lane paved trail winds through the coastal mountains from Agness to Galice.

Sunday after breakfast you can begin your journey home or continue to another adventure!
