You will experience the charm of the Mexican people, their delicious food, and stunning scenery along the way. This 2-week tour will expose you to the entire Baja California peninsula, the Whole Enchilada!
In this motorcycle tour you get to see and experience it all. From San Diego we take the back way to Tecate. Here we’ll get our FMMs stamped. The smell of street tacos fills the air - you know you have arrived in Mexico!
Down the coast of the Sea of Cortez we stop in San Felipe, Bahía San Luis Gonzaga and Bahía de los Ángeles. Have you ever hear of Coco’s Corner? We’ll stop in and say hello. Your senses will be overwhelmed with the majestical views!
Further south we get to the desert Oasis or San Ignacio and the beachside town of Loreto. La Paz is the busy capitol of Baja California Sur. Then we’ll take day off at our turn-around point in San José del Cabo.
As we head north we enjoy more amazing views of the Sea of Cortez and enjoy the pre-colonial town of Mulegé. In Guerrero Negro we’ll find the best fish tacos in the world! As we return to Baja California we’ll stop at the famous Mama Espinoza’s. It’s been a Baja 1000 checkpoint since the beginning.
In Cataviña we’ll see the cave paintings, reportedly 8,000 to 10,000 years old. The desert landscape will leave you in awe. Our last night in Mexico is Ensenada. This popular tourist destination has everything from shopping to restaurants and bars. Our last day takes us on the La Ruta del Vino through the Valle de Guadalupe. We will gather together for a farewell dinner.

itinerary
Day 1 - arrive in san diego
Schedule your flight to San Diego to arrive by early afternoon. Your motorcycle will be waiting for you at the hotel by 5pm. This is the time to ensure the motorcycle is set up properly for you. You’ll get your swag bag and finalize all the rental paperwork.

day 2 - san diego to tecate
After breakfast and a rider briefing, we'll take the back way to Tecate to cross the border and get our FMMs (tourist Visa). Instantly you’ll smell the street tacos and know you are in Mexico!
DAY 3 - tecate TO san felipe
From Tecate we’ll journey across MX-2 winding through the mountains and skirting the town of Mexicali as we grab MX-5 south to San Felipe, BC. San Felipe still shows its roots as a small fishing village on the Sea of Cortez.
Day 4 - san felipe to BAHÍA DE LOS ÁNGELES
South out of San Felipe the highway is rough until we join with the newly constructed MX-5. You’ll see the world’s largest cactus known as the Mexican Cardón. We’ll stop for lunch at Alfonsina’s at Bahía San Luis Gonzaga. We’ll continue down MX-5 to MX-1 as we end the day in Bahía de los Ángeles. The small fishing village is known for its water sports and sport fishing.
Day 5 - BAHÍA DE LOS ÁNGELES to san ignacio
The time changes as we enter the state of Baja California Sur. The day ends in the desert oasis town of San Ignacio. Date palms and citrus orchards were planted by the Jesuits in the 1700’s. The town has a traditional town square anchored with a church, reminiscent of small European towns.
Day 6 - san Ignacio to loreto
Glorious views greet us down the coast of the Sea of Cortez. You’ll wonder how this area isn’t developed with hotels and condos. The town of Loreto is still mostly a hidden gem. It’s a quiet beachfront town on the Sea of Cortez.
Day 7 - loreto to la paz
More stunning views as we continue down along the Sea of Cortez. It’s often breathtaking! Further along is La Paz, the capitol of Baja California Sur. This bustling city also hosts the ferry for those heading to mainland Mexico.
Day 8 - la paz to san josé del cabo
From La Paz we’ll stop in El Triunfo, a mining town dating back to the late 1700s. The day takes us down MX-1 until we reach San José del Cabo. During colonial times this was a water and provisions stop for Spanish vessels. Today it is a thriving town with art galleries, shops and restaurants. This historic town center is best explored on foot.
Day 9 - san josé del cabo
It’s your choice today! You can stay in Cabo and enjoy the beach, shopping and dining - or continue exploring the area. Cabo San Lucas is just 40 minutes away. It makes up the other half of the “Los Cabos.”
Day 10 - san josé del cabo to Cd Constitución
Our journey northbound begins today. Our first stop is Todos Santos, a unique desert oasis on the Tropic of Cancer, nestled amongst ancient orchards of mango and palm, with spectacular views overlooking its white sand beaches and the Pacific Ocean. We’ll continue north to Ciudad Constitución, known as the gateway to Magdalena Bay.
Day 11 - Cd Constitución to mulegé
From Ciudad Constitución we journey north along familiar territory - the beautiful views of the Sea of Cortez never get old. The town of Mulegé is situated on the Mulegé River. In 1754 the Jesuits began construction on the Misión Santa Rosalía de Mulegé.
Day 12 - mulegé to guerrero negro
Roadside fish tacos are on the menu for lunch today in Guerrero Negro. Simple, fresh and delicious.
Day 13 - guerrero negro to cataviña
Northbound on MX-1 takes us to Cataviña. We’ll stop to see the cave paintings, reported to be 8,000 to 10,000 years old.
Day 14 - cataviña to ensenada
We’ll stop for lunch at Mama Espinoza’s in El Rosario. This was a stop of the original Baja 1000. Lobster tacos are the house specialty!
Day 15 - ensenada to san diego
From Ensenada we travel through the La Ruta del Vino through the Valle de Guadalupe, sometimes considered the Napa Valley of Mexico. Once across the border we continue our travel to San Diego to return our motorcycles. We will gather together for a farewell dinner.
Day 16 - depart san diego or keep riding!
